The Kit Difference...

This is the best thing I've done for myself in 20 years!!
(after 3 day plein air workshop)

Cecelia Reilly, Corrales, NM

I spent a week painting plein air with Kit & it will forever be a highlight in my life. We painted in Taos, at the Rio Grande river behind her home & had the most magical day at Ghost Ranch. She really made me think outside my box & see & look at things as I have never seen them. I actually felt colors & looked at everything in a new way. It created a big leap for my art & my life & I look forward to my next workshop with Kit.

It was a delight to work with you, Kit. You brought together for me many of the aspects of art which I knew 'helter-skelter' but never in such an organized presentation before, and of course, you focused on primary weaknessesYou were able to critique me and my work without criticism, but realistically offering feedback, yet not discouraging my motivation to create, and take risks.
I hope to continue to process all that I learned in creating work which will inspire, bring hope and healing, and embrace another level of artistic vision...

Who is Kit Lynch? She is the Color Countess! Just look at the magical presentation of the world she so aptly portrays. As a student, I found that after studying with Kit, my paintings took on a new life... she is a master and is so willing to walk you down the path to find your own direction.
I continue explore those magical, colorful moments.
Thanks, Kit !!!

After a long and successful teaching career in north Texas, I came to New Mexico almost ten years ago My dreams included a desire to become a painter in this enchanted place with its cobalt skies and crystal clear air. The first "class" I took was a weekend course with Kit Lynch in plein aire pastel painting. Truly, I had never picked up a pastel until that glorious class. Almost instantly, I realized that Kit has the natural teacher's gifts of clarity, compassion, knowledge, and experience. As a bonus, she has a terrific and contagious sense of humor! She leads each student to find his/her own painting personae rather than emulate her style. She guides with suggestion rather than criticism and is equally comfortable with fledgling as well as established artists. She knows her stuff!

She opened up my world and taught me how to take my sense of color plus wonder and put it on paper. Though I have taken other classes, I have always returned to Kit's classes to keep me inspired. She remains my first and best art teacher, and she is also a dear friend. I smile whenever I hear Kit's name because I am so happy to be one of her flock. She has inspired me to find and develop my own style of painting and to add creative richness to my life. Thank you, Kit.

"Kit enabled me to find the freedom to give personality to art of my very own! What fun it is to give life to an old barn, spirit to a doorway, texture to a roof, rhythm to the trees, expressing with my very own mark be it with paint, pastel, or India ink!"

Nancy Sargent, Fish Creek, WI

Through Kit's encouragement, I was able to view my pastels in a new way - a way that put MY personality into my work. After her workshop, I continued on a path to strengthen my individual artistic voice. Needless to say, painting for me has become even more satisfying. Would I take another workshop with her? ABSOLUTELY!
